John Gall - Chair

John Gall – Chair

John has extensive experience in Australia’s financial services sector, especially in institutional funds management across asset classes such as; global equities, global bonds and property.

In March 2006, he retired as Managing Director, Franklin Templeton Investments Australia Limited.

Prior to this role, Mr. Gall served as the representative for Fiduciary Trust International (in Australia and New Zealand) from 1994 to 1999 (when the firm first established its Australian subsidiary).

John Eliopoulos

John Eliopoulos

John Eliopoulos is the Head of Australian Equities and Private Equity at Telstra Super. Prior to joining Telstra Super, John worked for almost 9 years as Chief Investment Officer with The Myer Family.

He also served as founding Managing Director of MF Asset Management – a boutique Australian Equities funds manager. Prior to his time with The Myer Family, John held a number of Senior Executive positions with companies including BNP Paribas Equities Australia and County Investment Management.

John has a Bachelor of Economics, from Monash University. He is also a fellow of the Financial Services Institute of Australasia.

David is the Chairman of the Trustee Board of AvSuper, the public offer corporate fund for staff of AirServices Australia and for some staff of the Civil Aviation Safety Authority.
Prof Deborah Ralston

Prof Deborah Ralston

Professor Deborah Ralston is the Director of the Australian Centre for Financial Studies and a Professor of Finance at Monash University. Previous appointments include Pro Vice Chancellor of the Division of Business Law and Information Science at the University of Canberra, and Director of the Centre for Australian Financial Institutions at the University of Southern Queensland.

Deborah’s academic background is in economics and financial management and she has taught in the areas of economics, corporate finance, credit risk management, financial statement analysis and financial institutions management.

Her research interests include the impact of financial regulation, the strategy and management of financial institutions and regional economic development. She has published widely in these areas and is a co-author of the text Financial Institutions Management.

Deborah is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, the Financial Services Institute of Australasia, and the Australian Society of Certified Practising Accountants.

Deborah was formerly a Director of Heritage Building Society 1992-2003 and is currently a Director of the listed mortgage broking company Mortgage Choice.

Graham Sinclair

Graeme Sinclair

Graeme Sinclair B.Comm, CA, ACIS, FAICD, Independent Director. Graeme qualified as a chartered accountant and then spent 36 years with the Myer Family Group, including 13 years as it’s CEO. He retired from that role in 2009.

He has 40 years experience in finance and investment management services. Graeme is a director of Peet Ltd, a residential property development company, Mirrabooka Investments Ltd, a listed investment company, chairman of Australian Geographic Retail P/L, a chain of retail stores, a trustee of The William Buckland Foundation, one of Victoria’s largest philanthropic foundations and a director of Habitat for Humanity Australia, part of the world’s largest not for profit house building organisation.

He is also a director of a number of other private companies. He has previously been involved with a number of other professional, community and philanthropic organisations.

Sam Wylie

Sam Wylie

Sam is a Senior Research Fellow of the Melbourne Business School.

Sam’s research and consulting is focused on the investment management and hedge fund industries, particularly performance measurement and incentives.

Bill Whitford
Bill Whitford
Bill is CEO of the Treasury Corporation of Victoria.

Bill has prior experience with interstate and global financial services organisations.
